hello, hi, hey, hola, bonjour:)
so yes this is my first ever blog post and hopefully the first of many. i have been wanting to start a blog for a while now however i've never actually done it so after being persuaded by friends and wanting to feel as though i am actually doing something with my (boring) life, here i am. so lets see how this goes. i am new to all of this so please bear with whilst i get everything sorted and looking all nice (hopefully):)

i guess nobody really knows who i am so i thought that i would start with a little q&a (question & answer) post so i hope that you enjoy it:)
here are a few questions which i have picked out that my lovely followers of instagram asked (there will hopefully be a link somewhere on here to my account once i've actually figured out how to do it so it would be great if you wanted to check it out @meganmercerr)
1. @meccabecca asks 'top five music artists?'
here i am going to have to include bands as well because i don't think i could actually survive without listening to their glorious music. it is so hard to narrow down to only 5 but all these people i love so much.
my top five artists/bands are probably, bastille (a british band who everyone needs to have heard of. i am seeing them in march :O and dan smith's hair is just wonderful and their music is beautiful), haim (just perfect i don't need to say anymore), taylor swift (yes i am a swiftie and i am seeing her in february so i am pretty (VERY VERY VERY) excited for that), orla gartland (singer/songwriter from ireland who again i love and dying to see live), and last but not least imagine dragons (band from las vagas who i saw in december last year with my beautiful friends which was incredible).
obviously i love them all because otherwise they wouldn't be in my favourites...

2. @vintageglamour_ asks 'favourite fragrance?'
i don't actually own any perfumes so i'm just going to say some things that i think smell nice.
soap and glory mist you madly 'a flirty(?) floral fragrant body spray' - it smells sweet and florally and nice.
i love strawberries and cream bubble bath and shower creme + i love coconut and cream bubble bath and shower (and having these two mixed together in a bath smells glorious).

3. @surfer_blood asks 'who's your favourite youtuber and why?'
watching youtube videos has slowly taken over my life and i admit i am subscribed and watch a fair few of youtubers now but i definitely do have my favourites.
one of these is the absolutely amazing louis cole (funforlouis) - he films daily vlogs of things that he does, places he visits and adventures he gets up to. he is british and is currently in austrailia with friends (one of my dream places to visit) and has seriously inspired me to travel the world, go on roadtrips with friends ;) and do so many exciting things which i have never done before. i love him so much and never fail to watch his daily videos and he has also inspired me to want to learn to skate and buy a penny board. (the amount i go on about him to my friends is probably so annoying aha).

4. @vintageglamour_ asks 'what do you enjoy doing in your free time?'
free time well um... procrastinating is one of the main things, i also spend an unhealthy amount of time on the internet...youtube, twitter, pinterest are my weaknesses. i also love to bake, sew and do crafts, spending time with my family and extraordinary friends (actually having a social life aha). i'm not really the most sporty person (i actually hardly do any whoops) but in the summer i do enjoy cycling, kayaking and going swimming at the beach.
5. @its_dannix asks ' favourite mascara?'
natural collection lash lengthening mascara is probably one of my favourites. it's cheap (£1.99) and works extremely well at lengthening and extending your lashes especially for the price - i always go back to this even after trying more expensive ones.

(this is to do with my instagram photos) to take my photos i just use my phone (iphone 5) as i currently do not own a camera however i am saving up for one. to edit my photos all i really do is increase the brightness and maybe add a filter or something if i feel like it. i always try and take photos during the day time using natural light because i find that it looks nicer than using artificial lights like lamps etc.. which is kind of crap for british people because we get about 5 hours of light a day and it's pretty much dark by the time i get back from school:(

7. @labyrinth_faerie asks 'fave cruelty-free make up brands?'
i know this isn't technically just a make up brand but LUSH is definitaly one of my favourites and i know that they definitely do not test on animals. i love their shops anyway as they have absolutely amazing products and they do actually sell make up however i am yet to try some. i would definitely recommend going there for bath bombs, bubble bars, soaps, skincare it's all so lovely. i would actually really like to look into what brands are cruelty free though.

no i do not... i think when i was about 3 my family had a pet hamster but it scratched people so we had to get rid of it and then we got another one but it died of old age:( so that's a cheery story:)

i don't actually watch that many films to be honest... in fact i very very rarely see any. i don't really know what my favourites are...the perks of being a wallflower is pretty good i guess....(it actually is though it's amazing).
however i am EXTREMELY MEGA excited for a new film which is due to come out soon and that is THE FAULT IN OUR STARS BY JOHN GREEN !! of course i have read the book (at least 5 times i think) and i just don't what to say. read it. buy it here. buy it here. buy it here. you have no excuse. the film comes out 20th june in the uk (6th june in america) and i literally cannot wait.

favourite beauty brand - this probably has to be rimmel london, it's affordable, and has some really nice products for example stay matte powder, wake me up concealer, apocalips, scandaleyes mascara....to name a few.
favourite fashion (lol me fashion??)/clothing brand - topshop is wonderful with amazing smart and casual wear, staple and unique pieces, and there's such a range of products which i love. another has to be fat face which also has some great quality and unique pieces, it feels quite casual but looks respectable and very nice.

barry m is great! it costs £2.99/£3.99 per bottle and they are wonderful. there is a huge range of colours and also different affects for example textured, glitter ones, metallic and gelly ones (my personal favourites) etc..

12. @alice_in_w0nder1and asks 'most embarrassing memory of all time?'
i think that this has to be when i went for a sleepover with some friends in about year 7 or something.....we were folding out a sofa bed to sleep on and i saw a gap at the back between two metal bars and said 'oh i bet i can fit through that!'......yes i did fit though it however when i got to about my waist i realised maybe i should try to get back out because i didn't want my friends parents seeing and yeh i was stuck. this resulted in her dad having to unscrew the whole bed, her mum getting 'slightly' cross and saying i had to pay over £1000 if i broke the bed, whilst i was crying and my friends probably having a right laugh behind me......that was great.

jumpers. wooly, knitted, soft, warm jumpers. they're just so easy to throw on and style with jeans, shorts, skirts, under dungerees and still look pretty and as if you've actually made an effort.
and i have decided to stop there...party because yes thirteen is my lucky number and also i think i have written enough for today aha (sorry if your question wasn't answered but i do wish to write more of these in the future)...
